Mcafee protection issues?

whenever i try to access my mcafee protection security center it doesnt show up but instead a window comes up saying "navigation to the webpage was canceled, refresh the page" but then i go to the scanning center and it says my computer is fine but i try to scan the computer and it just does a 2 second scan...my computer seems fine im thinking maybe that its time to renew my protection - what can i do to ensure what the problem is? thanks...
