Touch Screens, hate it or love it?

I think touch screen its a great substitute for navigation keys, selecting and scrolling, but it fails bad (even the iPhone) when you want to right a text, so they either make the keys in the screen so big that it occupies all screen or small and you touch every key but the one you are trying to touch. With the good old reliable button doomed, do you think touch screens are fulfiling your needs?
