Divorcing someone you still love?

My husband of 10 years wants a divorce because he is no longer happy in the marriage. He is crying a lot ( sometimes he even sobs uncontrollably like a baby). He finally gets a different apartment, after I made him do it. I have been utterly depressed over this whole thing and can't cope seeing him in the house anymore. The day he left, he hugged me tight and kissed me on the cheeks, told me he loves me so much in his heart..and then cried again. He asked me to call him if I need groceries or any help, as I am a housewife and have no income. I asked him when he will file the divorce, but he has no answer. I really don't understand - if you love your wife so much and leaving her makes you depressed and you still feel it your duty to help her financially, why would you leave her and break BOTH our hearts so? He can't even tell me when he will file. Why is my husband doing all these?
