How do you unjam a DVD player?

When I went to replace the DVD in my Accura MDX navigation system, it made a funny sort of clicking sound when the old DVD popped out and now it won't accept the new DVD. I suspect I need a new system altogether, but we leave in just a few hours on a long road trip. Any suggestions? I'm willing to take it apart and risk ruining it for sure, but I don't know what to look for. Thanks
