Can i get a disability (SSI) Check for my Daughter?

My child just got diagnosed with a learning disability(ies). I been seeing her behavior in school for a while but this year i started noticing she being getting worse so i had her tested she been having problems since the 2nd grade she is now going to 5th grade (barely) being going to summer school every year since 2nd grade.I though maybe she will grow out of it that's why i never follow up on having her check out (I guess i as the parent was in denial) And here it is in writing that yes she have a learning disability .Her test scores in all areas was below average and show several signs of weakness...So question is i was told by others that i could received a check for her. Me being independent single parent wouldn't mind the income but at the same time that's not something to be proud of..I was considering getting her a tutor that's works with children with learning disability..( I don't know )....
