How to remove this white space between images in dreamweaver? HELP!?

So i have created my template and everything and it all fits well. Then i test my buttons, which i have put inside a navigation div tag. It all looks fine until i add links to the buttons, which creates white spaces between all the of them. I have set the border, margin, padding to zero but nothing happens. I have no idea how to fix this help!
